It is *so* frustrating - does anyone know ANYthing at all yet? I've got checks I've been waiting to deposit, and they're either goign to wait till it gets fixed, or till I get home in two months to my bank. 😞

Anyone talk to their customer service recently? I talked to them last week and they said by Tuesday (April 10). That obviously never happened.

I called PayPal Tech Support today, Wed, 18 Apr.
PayPal reports that engineers are still working on it. The program failed after they tried to make changes.
They do not have a promised date that it will be fixed. PayPal says to take your checks to your bank for deposit.
If you want to join in and make a call every day to get this back on their priority list, go "Help" wheh you are logged into paypal on the computer , then click "Contact us" then click "Call Us." PP will give you a phone number and access code. Dial in and use code when prompted.
At the voice prompts just say "Mobile Technical Support" at each question they ask. When you get to a live person, say you need Mobile Techincal Support. You will then be transferred to someone else.
When you get to Mobile Tech Support, please ask if they know when the problem with Check Capture will be fixed and if they can report back to the developers that this is an ongoing probem for a couple of weeks.

My guess is that PayPal has either run into a nasty security problem or a nasty programming problem. Either way, this could take a long time to solve.
That happens. What should *not* have happened is that they have handled it so incredibly badly.
I've always liked PayPal, but this leaves a sour taste in my mouth. When anything else comes along, I'll have to seriously considering switching to it. 😕

I agree that PayPal has badly botched this.
1) They refuse to implement a meaningful error message, instead leaving each user to try to figure out what's wrong in his own.
2) They have not been posting here on the threads concerning this problem. On other matters, PayPal staffers come in and comment.

Just wanted to add another person to the list of disappointed paypal mobile users. I'd been trying to deposit my first check using the iphone app over the last few days only to keep getting an error message suggesting I try back later. Pretty annoying and guarantees that I won't be trying to deposit a check again for a long time.

I don't have a check to try it with or I would.
Can anyone else test a check capture please and report back?

Same issue here. Using iPhone 4s and ever since I upgraded the PayPal app I have not been able to upload any checks. Sorry for the redundancy in the post, but I figured the more voices that chime in, the better!

PayPal tech support has confirmed that Mobile Check Capture is down for everyone as of 10 April.
