"Authorization" - PayPal won't allow payment through

I bought a product through Office Depot. 4 days later they sent me an email that Paypal was holding it up. On the Paypal site it says that the payment is listed under "Authorization" NOT "Payment Received," but they took the liberty of taking the money out of my account. I called Office Depot up and they said it was PayPal's problem.
What is going on? This has never happened. It's been six days.

The transaction is listed under Authorization section but what else does it say? Click on the transaction for more details. What is the payment status (different from the Authorization section):

Some merchants employ the AC2 (Order, Auth, Capture) method of processing payments. Perhaps PayPal is holding it up on the merchant's end and not your end since PayPal debited the money from your bank account.
Call PayPal customer service for assistance. Click Contact on bottom of page. Press zero or say "agent" when on the line.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

It says: "Pending," underneath that the merchant is listed, and underneath that heading is: "Authorization" and then this:
This is a temporary authorization to make sure your payment method will cover the payment. Your payment method will be charged when Office Depot Inc. completes your order.
Is it possible I had the "Pay after delivery" on? Would that hold up a transaction? I paid out of my Paypal balance, not my bank account, but there is almost a thousand bucks in the Paypal account; there is certainly no defienciy of funds.
If Paypal is holding it up on the merchant's end, how can I get them to okay the payment already?
The Paypal agent I called blamed the problem on Office Depot, and the Office Depot folks say the payment is being withheld.
Thanks.

Even if you paid with PAD, the seller gets paid by PayPal right away and PayPal deducts the money from your account later. But by what it says about the Authorization, it does seem like Office Depot is using the AC2 method. Office Depot have to capture the money. Maybe have Office Depot contact PayPal and say it has nothing to do with you because the money is removed from your account, unless they void/cancel the order to refund you and you place the order again. Keep in mind, this is user to user forum, half the time, the glitch can't even be explained and since we do not have access to accounts and the technical backend, the help we can give is rather limited and are guesses as to what caused it. So, you have to get with Office Depot and PayPal to fix it or you file a dispute if they don't ultimately.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
