"Accepting" payments that have been sent to me

Paypal recently returned two payments that people sent to me because I hadn't "accepted" them. I don't know how to accept payments and I want my account to accept money automatically. I sold things to these people weeks ago and now I have to go ask them to resend the money and I don't even know if I will get the money now.

Hi @Sandkrab,

I'm sorry to hear that there were unclaimed payments that were returned to the senders! I'm happy to help.

If the email address on the account is unconfirmed, if the payment is being sent in a currency for which you do not have an open balance set up, or if the system is requiring that you add a bank to your account as a validation measure, the payment would not be automatically received. You would receive an email advising you of the payment waiting for you to complete the action(s) necessary to accept the payment.

To be safe, you can ignore any links in the email and complete any of the steps by opening a fresh browser window and logging in at paypal.com. You may need to confirm your email address, add the payment's currency to your balance (by clicking Wallet and Manage currencies), or add a bank account.

If the currency of the payments was one that you hold, the email address is confirmed, and there is a confirmed bank account on file, please reach out to customer support for further investigation. You can reach customer support by Facebook, Twitter, or phone or email.

I hope this helps!

Olivia
