Yesterday I recieved a payment request on my paypal account from your behalf - "here goes my paypal email"
I guess that you are the request sender, as long as it contains your individual info:
"My name"
"My old address"
"My old phone number"
The question is - where did you get individual data about my account and why you have sent an request for payment. I have no idea who you are and I don't want to cause any troubles. But my advocate gave me recommendation to contact the police about your fraud letter. Anyway, I don't want to hurry up with this, and first of all, I'm planing to get all therequired details from you. I have attached the payment details in the text document below.
For security reasons file was protected by password - 8575.
I expect response and interaction from you as soon as you can.
Regards,
Daniel Lebish

I also got one of these. Stupidly I downloaded the file (*.dotm) but woke up before i opened it. I tried to forward it to spoof@paypal.com but all of the content was stripped out so they can't do anything. All of my personal information was correct except the phone number which was old. I was hoping to fiind out if just downloading the file has infected my computer. FYI: the dotm file is a type of microsoft word file.

I received the identical email from a Michelina Khaleel. It is word for word, and included the strange file, that I made the mistake of downloading, but did not open. What do I do?! I tried forwarding it to PayPal, and received a response that said they cannot help because the email did not claim to be PayPal. I did change my passwords, but I'm still concerned that my computer is infected.

Don't worry about changing passwords or anything. These clowns aren't getting your info from Paypal. They're finding your info from those 'info collection' sites and throwing out as many lines as they can to try to fish your info. My wife got one for an email that doesn't even have a paypal account attached to it. And it has her address from 6 years ago. Don't even worry about it. They have nothing real, but I'd advise you to google yourself and have your information removed from those other websites. Paypal can't do anything, but these scammers are only working off of public data they're finding online at other sources.
