Venmo has a limit? How can I make a larger payment without sharing my social security number?

I got a Venmo account to pay rent for my son who is a college student. When I went to pay, I was told I needed to put in part of my social security account number and birthdate in order to make more than a $300 payment. Paypal never asks for this!!! Is there any way to send a Paypal payment to a Venmo account? I always use a credit card and never debit for security reasons.

The only way is to have the same checking account linked to PayPal and Venmo and then withdrawing to the checking account then adding to PayPal or Venmo accts.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
