Does anyone know what this means.  At the same time this happened PayPal put a hold on my account because of an item that was

labeled Persian turquoise which they said meant I was trading with Iran.  I was not.  I sent them proof the item was purchased from a dealer in the US.  The item was an antique from the AustroHungarian empire.  They cleared my account but cancelled the order that contained the item under dispute.  All I can say is do not use the word 'Persian' when selling an item because that is what caused the problem.

Government regulations.  Apparently what you did wasn't permitted, either product, selling location, or shipping location.

You didn't specify any details of your business.

The items in the order were all vintage and and antique jewelry.  The one PayPal said they thought was

bought in Iran was an Austro-Hungarian pendant with turquoise and pearls from the 1900s.  I sell on RubyLane.  There are

hundreds of other items on RubyLane that are labeled Persian turquoise.  They unlocked the hold on my account at the sametime they denied the transaction.

I have gotten this message trying to make a purchase from an Etsy shop in the UK (I am in Germany). I've made Etsy purchases before no problem, from the UK and other EU countries. The items in question are four vintage book prints. Paypal has held then declined multiple attempts to purchase these items, and helpdesk simply stated that the payments had been declined and that I would be refunded, no reason given or help offered how I could actually complete this purchase.

Reading the comments above, it might be related to the item descriptions containing the words Russian or Indian??? (The prints are of animals from a Russian encyclopaedia). Pretty rubbish that the PayPal system costs sellers sales because a human can't be bothered to read what the item actually is!!! Are vintage items originating from certain countries forbidden from PayPal?

I was just denied a $40 payment to an automotive parts supply buisness for purchace of 6 ft of braided 3/8" fuel line. Nonsense! In a telephone exchange, a paypal rep suggested teh term "fuel" was the trigger. No recourse, and no payback? Well, I will take my buisness elsewhere.  There can be no excuse for this to be "reviewed" and denied. The firm is located in Connecticut, and has been supplying me parts for years....
