Refund emails, but did not have a confirmed email on paypal so I did not recieve a refund

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread on this.

Yesterday, a returned item had arrived to it's destination, and I recieved emails on my ebay and google accounts (both of these are associated with my paypal account) saying I had recieved a partial refund. I used these links to go into paypal, but the activities show that I only spent money using ebay's return label. I saw that I had to confirm my email address, so I did through the account settings page. Smiley Embarassed I went to paypal again, even using the links in the emails concerning the refunds, it did not show that I had recieved a partial refund. I thought I should wait a day before looking again in case it would show later, but it has not shown so far (it has not been 24 hours).

Because the seller refunded the money while I did not confirm my email, did I lose my money?Smiley Sad

Once you confirm the email address, the refund should show up.  Did you pay through PayPal Guest checkout? But the strange thing is, shouldn't your email address be already confirmed. You pretty much can't use PayPal account without confirming email address. Or is the seller asking to confirm that the email address they are sending refund to the correct one? Did the sender send refund as personal payment to an unregistered email address of yours? and not through the transaction? Are the emails you clicked on, genuine PayPal emails?  Or, did you fund your payment with credit card? Because refunds go back to the funding source used so you need to check your card statement. And refunds to card take up to 30 days.
