Preferred payment method

I have paypal credit set as my preferred payment method, I recently made a purchase of airline tickets assuming it would go to paypal credit due to having that set up as my preferred payment method, but it appears to be being taken out of my bank account which is not what I wanted

You can only use paypal credit when offered at checkout.
