Hi,

I am buying an item from ebay (UK) and paying a deposit via paypal, the seller has sent me their paypal email to transfer the money into. Is this safe and protected via paypal without an invoice or money request?

Many thanks

As long as you are NOT using the friends / family option but using the goods / services option then payments are covered.

However paypal buyer protection is not a 100% coverall so you need read up on buyer protection and see if your item / deposit is covered.

Hi

@kernowlass

Thankyou for your swift response. The purchase is of a caravan, i think this should be cover but it cant see a direct reference to this.

No, you won't be covered as there is 0 buyer protection for any sort of motor vehicle.

That is why i advised you to read up on buyer protection, so you can risk assess your own transactions.

Ok thanks, i was unsure as i presumed no engine = not a motorised vehicle.

Thats a grey area, but even if that was covered buyer protection does not cover anything personally collected or delivered.

I presume he is not going to send it in the post for you? Smiley Wink
