Two differen't buyers have attempted to pay me through paypal and are getting these reasons.

A seller isn't eligible to accept PayPal Credit
You're buying an item sold in a currency that is not supported
You have a PayPal Smart Connect or PayPal Extras MasterCard linked to your PayPal account [THIS IS NOT THE CASE]

of course paypal is closed.

what should I do?

sounds like the issue is they are using Paypal credit to pay you.

do you have a personal or business Paypal account?

what currency are you using?

are you new to Paypal?

what are you selling?

Some items are not eligible to be purchased using Paypal credit.you may want to review guidelines on Paypal credit.

Here's the message I received on my smartphone when trying to process a payment "PayPal Credit isn't eligible for this purchase, which may be due to one of the following reasons: A seller isn't eligible to accept PayPal Credit, You're buying an item sold in a currency that is not supported, You have a PayPal Smart Connect or PayPal Extras MasterCard linked to your PayPal account"  Spent 45 minutes on the line with Synchrony Bank being transferred to PayPal, eBay and back to PayPal.  No one seems to know or understand why this message has been popping up, and are telling their customers that it is probably the seller's restrictions on which credit cards they will accept (which I think is absurd -- if a seller accepts PayPal, this should work).  The folks at Synchrony Bank who run the PayPal Extras Credit card have acknowledged they are aware of this, but not certain why it's happening, or whether this is a temporary glitch or a permanent policy decision.  If it is a policy change/decision, it's a stupid one, since most people who applied for the PayPal Extras MasterCard did so specifically for online purchases via eBay/Amazon...

I've had it happen on three separate purchases with three separate sellers on eBay today.  I was able to successfully process payment via PayPal by selecting a different credit card for the purchase, but many who wanted their PayPal Extras rewards will be disappointed having to select or use another credit card to make purchases, and not getting the benefit of the rewards points for their purchases on this card.  It's definitely a bad time for this to happen for buyers and sellers alike, with Holiday shopping kicking into high gear, but since the error message buyers receive is so specific, this definitely seems like an intentional change.  Definitely interested in hearing from Synchrony Bank, PayPal and eBay to better understand what's happening here!!!

There are many reasons why PayPal Credit wil not work.  PayPal does not disclose security measures in place.

No one here knows our financial and credit score information; nor do we know your PayPal/PayPal credit history.  All those factors are evaluated at time of purchase.

PayPal is not accepted for all types of purchases and not for alll merchants.
