I know this has been asked many times. But why doesn't pay after delivery show up as an option? I have searched and read many posts about this issue. But I haven't found a solid answer other than it only random shows up or whatever. My account is verified and linked to my bank account. I do have it set as my preferred payment option but I don't see it when I try to checkout on an ebay item. Anyways I'd rather not deal with customer service if it's just going to be a hassle, so hopefully someone can help me out here. Thanks...

I've had a lot of trouble with Pay After Delivery as well. When I first got it a few months ago it worked for a week and then stopped, even on shops I had used PAD with before. I emailed them and about a day later PAD came back, and a week after that I got an email from a rep saying, "Oh, I see we fixed it already."
Then about three weeks ago it stopped working again, and this time I called and was told that it only works on some stores and that "the system decides" in a case-by-case basis. The lady on the phone was entirely unhelpful and even hung up before the call was finished.
As of right now, none of the 10 purchases I've made or tried to make in the last week had PAD as an option. But I keep getting those stupid emails from Paypal telling me I should be taking advantage of PAD. Hey, I'd love to, but your "system" is messed up, guys.
(Edited because apparently "scr*wed up" is a swear word according to the forums? Sheesh.)

Hello,
I have also got the run around regarding this issue. One rep told me she `fixed`` a separate problem by changing my preferred method to using the Paypal balance before using the bank I initially chose for PAD (something I thought was automatic before but actually wasn`t - so I was adding money to paypal before the PAD date and the money still came out of my then empty bank account rather than using the PP balance I had!). Anyway she `fixed`` the problem and ever since then, I have not been òffered`the PAD for any purchases at my usual stores that offered it. In addition, 2 reps later both told me that PAD is a privilege and a `promo``. So I guess I should just feel fortunate I had the chance...But I have been told it was a promo since 2013 when they first tested it out....
Feeling frustrated.

Thought it was just me. I had to keep verifying my account through the phone to get it to work. Only thing is, that it only worked for one purchase. If I make another PAD is gone until I have to call again. Last person I talked to said that something is wrong with their system and we are going to get it fixed in a bit. Try again in an hour. LOL still can't use PAD. I think she said that to get me off the phone because I was starting to lose my cool. Could barely understand her and she didn't understand what I was talking about even though I said it clearly and slowly.
Paypal needs better competition, they don't care about us. They might decide to ditch PAD. Sucks...

I thought I was the only one also. It sucks, cause PAD was how I was doing my Christmas shopping for my kids and hubby. Its funny how paypal hasnt addressed any of this on this forum.

On this note, it is even worse if you come to expect using it with a certain bill every month and all of a sudden it is no longer offered for that party. I have been using it for months with my car insurance, all of a sudden it isn't offered with them.

I've been desperately scrolling through these pages in search of the same answers, and seeing all of your shared help among this chaos of confusion.
As some of you have mentioned, when this entire big picture conundrum is viewed from afar distance, there is one obvious big "giant elephant" problem sticking out: the TOTAL absence of A
NY guidance, input or ANY RESPONSE from PayPal regarding this issue.
Can u just forget the details for a moment, and imagine if this same big chaos was occurring on a bank's chat board.. Like Wellsfargo or American Express comments on forums by masses of confused card holders. There is NO WAY they would allow the utter insanity of public confusion to go on FOR SO LONG and SO MANY POSTS
SO then i SUDDENLY LAUGHED out loud, before I even got a chance to write my own "WTF" piece to this topic... because I realized we are, all of us hundreds of crazed confused consumers as we are typing and commenting our bits and pieces of clues and stores... Hah. We're all like small tiny ants hopelessly running about some playground with a new P.A.D toy as our diversion, eager to get it to work... and It is for the amusement of a giant powerful man PP hovering over us entertained by us and shaking his head ( in this case he is PayPal ) and he's laughing maniacally at our tiny helpless team detective work, our clue sharing, our hopelessness with this new "toy" called P.A.D. ...
If if it was SUPPOSED TO WORK PROPERLY, they would make sure it worked properly.
We must look ridiculous.
