Known Issue: Received payments not appearing in balance

"PayPal experienced a brief technical issue yesterday during a planned system update which resulted in some consumers being unable to see a transaction in their account history after it had processed. And, some merchants may not have received immediate payment.  
 
The technical issue has been fixed and PayPal is working to have these transactions reflected accurately for both consumers and merchants.

I know this has been a frustrating issue and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.  I want to assure you this was immediately escalated and is being worked on at a high priority.  We don't have an exact ETA but our engineers are working to fix the transactions affected by this issue as soon as possible.

Q. Why I cannot see the money in my balance? I am sure that I received a payment because I received the email confirmation.  

A system change last night has resulted in an issue whereby instant bank funded transactions are not appearing on account balances. Once you received the email confirming your payment the transaction did complete but it will only appear in the account balance once this issue is resolved.

 

Q. Why does the system not allow me to withdraw the payment that I already received?

You will be able to withdraw the funds once the transaction appears on your account balance.

 

Q. I received a payment, but I cannot see the money in my balance. Should I send the parcel?

Until the payments shows as completed in your account activity log we would advise you not to send out the parcel. We expect this issue to be resolved soon therefore this shouldn't cause any major delay to your parcel send.

I agree. If you have tech people there working on it then it shouldn't be taking over 24 hours to fix this issue. People should have been alerted and notified of this problem as soon as it was discovered. Instead, people are losing money in the abyss and the customer support is less than helpful, not to mention informative.

Well thats funny because until I called them the payment wasn't showing, once I spoke to Jassica M it magically appeared. If you weren't keeping close tabs on your account you could very easily lose money and I am sure that it has happened because Paypal does NOT alert you to these problems

Just got off the phone with them.  They know of the issue and are trying to sort out but don't have an ETA on when my account will be fixed.  They told me to check again in a few hours.  I asked if it was ok to ship the item and at first was told yes but didn't sound 100% confident.  From the sounds of it from other folks it should sort itself out just want to make sure the money didn't go back to buyer or anything like that while i already shipped the item.  Will let you know if I hear anything else.

Called Customer Support, pressed 0, got a helpful person who was aware of the issue & while a fix is still in the works, was willing to send a message stating that the payment would be credited to my account.

 

My buyer has no part in this so I've gone ahead & shipped- no reason to make them wait for someone else's glitch.

I am having a problem, a customer purchased an item on Ebay, paid for it yesterday. The payment did not show on my Paypal account. I had to ship the item (without being paid via Ebay policy because my customer in fact did pay) Spoke to Paypal customer service and they said it was a glitch and would be fixed by IT soon. Well that was yesterday and as of 26 hours later the money is still not there. No follow up from Paypal what so ever. I had to call them back and we all know how much fun getting through is, same song and dance today. I have been using Paypal since 2000, and I'll bet if I withheld a payment to Paypal they would be all over me in two seconds. Anyone else have a problem like this?
