Got email saying payment was made, but nothing shows in my PayPal account

An expected payment was made to me yesterday, and I just got an email saying that it was available. Nothing is showing on my account. Help!

Are you absolutely certain the email was from PayPal?

Why were you expecting a payment?

I have the email of the sender. It was expected, birthday money. I'm not sure if it was done with a credit card or a PayPal account.

If the transaction is not in you PayPal account then you don't have the money.
