Deposit Checks directly into paypal account

Is it possible to deposit a check using the mobile app by taking photos of the check itself?  I thought I read online that you could.

Paypal is not a bank,it keeps our money in different banks/accounts/

we are sub accounts within Paypal account,banks know nothing about us.

It should be mentioned that you once could deposit checks into Paypal--the service was discontinued.  The service was called Ingo, but they apparently gave up on it.
