Card Reader Not Working

Just received the audio jack plug-in card reader, PayPal Here recognizes the reader but won't read swipes when I try the tutorial. I made sure the case was off and the headphone jack was clear. I tried multiple cards, made sure the stripe was facing the right way, tried swiping both left and right, and none of them are able to be read. This is on a Google Pixel. Am I missing something obvious?

I have also restarted the phone, exited and restarted the app, and still no luck.

What is a Google Pixel?  Does PayPal list the PayPal Here app compatible with that device?

From the PayPal Here app tap the settings lines at the upper left.  What information is displayed about the card reader?

Do you get an errors when you swipe a card?

Is the app set to control the volume on the device?

Which version of the Android app do you have?

Did you try uninstalling and re-installing the app?

You can phone PayPal customer service and talk to  PayPal Here techn.  They can be very good.  If he triangle is defective, they send a new one.
