Can a seller invoice me a cancellation fee for a subscription I cancelled early?

I recently subscribed to a monthly subscription box and as it turns out, they have a 3-month minimum subscription requirement BEFORE you can even cancel it on their website. Is this allowed? I have only one month out of the three down but recent events have shown them to be discriminatory and I want no association with this brand.

If it is described in account agreement before you pay, then it is allowed.  You either agree or not agree.  If you don't like the option, then don't sign up.

they don't have straight forward TOS anywhere, just their sketchy cancellation policy. From PayPal's TOS, they need to provide buyers the ability to stop any automatic payment up to three days before, but they don't allow that for at least a month. for example, if you need to cancel for february, you need to email them by the end of december. i just don't understand how she's not allowing cancellations when it sounds like she doesn't give buyers the option to cancel for at least a month in advance.

You should make sure you understand the site terms of cancellantion before you sign up.

In comparing PayPal's requirement for cancelling, look at the word "...up to 3 days before".  What are the real range of numbers included in "up to 3 days before".    Does that allow the site to specify 4 days?   Is 4 days included in "up to 3 days before?  Answer, yes.  Is 5 days included in the range?  Yes.  30 days? Yes.

The up to 3 days means that there is requirement that the site go as low as 2 days or 1 day.  So, 2 months is within PayPal requirements.

PayPal requires the site to provide cancellation options but PayPal does not specify which days MUST be included; it only specifies which days CANNOT included:  less then 3.

I have no idea as you haven't given the name of the service.  You need to go to the service website, whatever that service is, and look for details.

Your question title is very different than the text of your post.  The title asks if the service can send an invoice for cancellation.  The answer would be yes, but you are not required to pay an invoice.  Maybe you could clarify what you really meant by the title.

multiple people have cancelled this subscription and have received invoices for the cancellation fee (which is outlined on the website). however, they also state you can't cancel for at least three months. how is this even something they can enforce? i am one month into the three-month requirement and i am curious if they're allowed to invoice me a cancellation fee when it sounds like it complies with PP's TOS.
