I have listed a car for sale locally, and a prospective purchaser has shown interest but wishes to pay through Pay Pal. He has asked for my info which I am reluctant to send without knowing the ins and outs of dealing in this manner. How should I proceed with this for my own safety? The "buyer has said he will arrange pickup of the vehicle, I would only release the car upon verification of funding by Pay Pal. Also, how much does Pay Pal charge for this service?

THIS SOUNDS LIKE A TYPICAL PAYPAL SCAM....read this and be aware.
They encourage you to use paypal.
You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't.
It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.
If the item requires shipping they will tell you that they will pay you extra and you must pay the agent via western union / moneygram BEFORE the funds are released to you and you may get an "invoice" that says paid on it (remember sellers send invoices not buyers and nothing will show in your paypal account balance).
They are not interested in the item, they just want the western union etc funds and you will never see money in your paypal balance.
They also threaten legal action...have a laugh at that one and ignore it as its rubbish.
Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.
Paypal NEVER expect you to use a rival money transfer service.
Also there is NO seller protection on paypal for any type of motor vehicle.
Tell him cash on collection and you will hear no more.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
