"We cannot send your payment right now."

I am trying to send a payment to one of my independent contractors for some work he did. I am receiving the following error:

We're sorry. We can't send your payment right now."

There is no explanation of the error. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't be able to send money. The account is verified and has been linked to a debit card AND a bank account. I own a LLC that was formed legally via our state's Department of State. I also added our company EIN number to our Paypal account for verification. We've only had two customers use Paypal so far; both are in the U.S. and are verified account holders. I am using the same computer I am always using to log in and send payments; I am not traveling in another country or using any kind of proxy server.

Why is this happening and how can I fix it? I have no other way to pay this worker, and he did a good job for us. He shouldn't have to wait for his payment because Paypal is acting up.

There never is a specific reason for this error message and unfortunately it's quite a common question within the forum.

What we can tell you is that the reasons can vary from a system glitch to an unverified account, be it your account or even the receiver's account.  Yet, sometimes the problem just goes away.  In addition to ensuring your account is verified, (which you said it is), also make sure any credit cards you have linked and confirmed are current.

You can try some easy things like deleting your web browser's cookies, temp files and history, then retrying.  You can also try using a different web browser or if possible, another computer.

If the problem persists, the next option would be to contact customer support with your concerns.  They have the capability to check things out on their end and look at your account details.  That's something that can't be done thru the forum.
