$ in paypal doesnt cover balance

I have $140 in paypal from a refund. I want to purchase an item that is $155 and my bank account is linked to my paypal account With sufficient funds. Will the transaction use the 140 from paypal and the rest fromy bank account? Or will it deduct the total amount from my bank?

Ppal take the payment from your ppal balance first then any remainder from your back up source

HOWEVER it will only take the rest from your bank account if you are funding it from a debit card OR you have a back up credit card linked to your paypal account as well.

The same goes for funds in your paypal balance, you need to have a back up card linked before you can use those funds.
