how to pay invoice with bank acct instead of CC

I recently set up Paypal account with linked bank account and credit card.  For the first transaction, a vendor sent me a payment request through mobile app.  From the email I received, I logged in to pay the invoice but the only available payment option was the credit card.  I'd rather pay from my bank account.  How can I make this option available?

The funds will first come from your PayPal Account Balance, if there are insufficient funds, PayPal will then withdraw the funds from your bank account.  Normally a credit card is used for a back up funding choice whereas you see an option that says choose another funding source.  That where you would select a credit card, there's no option for bank account.  That's the standard checkout process.  Just curious, did you have a different type of screen presented to you?
