Returning money to buyer

Very first transaction with Paypal and the buyer states the item is not as described. Ok, i agree to refund his money, however the funds are pending because this is my first transaction with Paypal. How do i refund him his money if it is pending?

You wait until he returns the item FIRST before you refund.

Then you can contact paypal and ask them to release the pending funds back to the buyer.
