Requested refund.....where will my refund go???

Just requested to cancel my transaction, I called pay pal and was told it would take 5 days to be refunded.. Now I had a typo in the email addres so I immediately canceled, of course not knowing who in the world would get my money......one letter off could be a disaster 😱😪 will my refund go back to my checking account since that is where it came from?

And honestly pay pal should do something more for typo errors........maybe going into the system and override and type in the correct address for your customer would have been so nice.  This is really poor customer service. I'm thankful that I was able to cancel but have some mercy this payment had to be in today!!! A simple fix to the email address would have saved me from such heartaches today.  Needless to say I lost faith in pay pal 😪😪😪

When you pay a seller it is never instant > paypal credit the seller for you and then start the process of uploading your funds to paypal from your funding source.

This is done so you get your item more quickly.

So when you cancel that payment > those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will then either return them to your funding source (if you paid with a debit or credit card), or credit your paypal balance (if it was funded from your balance or instant bank transfer), but that takes a few days and sometimes up to a week.
