I made a payment on my due date to PayPal credit yesterday. Today, the payment is still listed as pending - and my PayPal credit balance went *up* by the amount of the payment I made. What is going on here?

I haven't paid too much attention to the daily details when I make a payment as I did this month. I scheduled the payment from my checking account to occur 1 day before the payment due date. The process is interesting as it needs to pass through my regular PayPal account; PayPal and PayPal Credit are separate businesses.
This is from my PayPal account activity
1 Apr: transfer to bank account, completed -$xxx. This is because the payment was passed to PayPal Credit. The details of this activity are 2 lines: one showing an increase as the funds came in from the checking account and the other an equal decrease as the funds passed through to PayPal Credit, although it doesn't mention PayPal credit.
Since this was the previous billing cycle for PayPal Credit the only detail is on the new statement. That shows the payment on 1 Apr.
My payment due date was 2 Apr and I scheduled it to occur on 1 Apr.
This payment cleared my checking account on 4 April. 1 Apr was Friday, 4th was Monday.
I never followed the hour-by-hour changes in balances as all of these transfers occured. Perhaps the PayPal funds balance would go up as the funds come in from checking and then go back down as the funds pass through the PayPal Credit.
As long as the transcation details look correct, I don't think this is an issue.
On what date was the payment to be made? Was it scheduled or entered manually for an immediate payment? If immediate, what time of the day?

Yeah - I get that the payments don't always go through instantly. What gives me pause is that I've made no other transactions and my balance went *up* by the amount of my payment - that just seems weird.

What when up, your avaiable credit balance or your debt number go up?
Since you are making a payment your available credit balance will go up.

I think we need more details.
Was the payment from your linked checking account or from your PayPal balance?
You mentioned that the transaction shows pending. Is this the transaction detail in your PayPal Credit activity or your PayPal activity?

If I look at the actvity summary from last statement until today...
The only transaction is the pending payment I made yesterday - from my linked checking account (which is the only option I get when I click "make a payment".
That page also shows my balance as of the last statement - and my current balance - and it shows the current balance as higher than the statement balance by the exact amount of the payment. This is puzzling and has me worried that I haven't really been credited with my payment - I do not want to get dinged w/ any late fees when I paid on time.

Thanks - that gives some confidence that this is just esoteric accounting detail that I don't need to follow this closely.
It was a one-time payment scheduled immediately - late afternoon yesterday (the due date) as I realized I had spaced the payment - I will set up auto-payment going forward so I need not fret over these details.

I do scheduling as needed , not monthly auto payments as I don't have promotional balances due every month.
