I'm honestly not certain what you're goal is. If your goal is to confirm your email you do not need to audit anything in the email PayPal sends. Just click the confirm email button.

I have a Donation button on a client website. After a user donates, they recieve a confirmation email. I'd like to edit the text of that email. This donation button was setup many years ago (10 years?) and I can't find any settings where I would edit the confirmation email.

You made need to just create a new button with the text you want.

Or you could edit the HTML code on your web site to change the text.
