Help multi buy discount and free shipping over xx in cart please.

Hello all, i have used the search function both on the website and on google but i wasnt quite able to solve this so i have registered to ask you lovely people for help.

i have 2 problems i hope you can help me with.:

1- I have created a website and would like to sell small goods, however i want to implement a multi buy discount.

so for example:

buy 1 item for £5.99

buy 3 items for £15

buy 5 items for £24

buy 10 items for £46

----

2- my second main problem is including free postage when total cart exceeds a certain amount.

for example:

spend over £30 to have free shipping. How do i set this up to have the shipping cost removed once the cart reaches a certain amount?

from what i have gathered i must use the  discount_amount_x

im still not quite sure how to put this into code, i do appologise and greatly appreciate any help.

i would greatly appreciate any help or even a point into the right direction.

playing with the discount_item and cart options i cant get this to work and its really the only thing left for my website to go live.

Is your web site an eCommerce site with shopping cart?  If so that's where you should find the funcationality.

If it is not ecommerce, how are you trying to implement a shopping cart?

the website itself isnt launched/live yet. I have created it in adobe muse and set it all up, I have used paypal as a cart itself. I have managed to have it all working (i tested it) so i can add multiple items and it does stay in the paypal "cart" but no discount applies (at least not the way i wanted it)

paypal themselves said this is something they cant help me with, i would need to seek help elsewhere (not this blunt but basically this).
