I sent money through gift to a friend so he could buy something, but then realized that I sent money from my checking account as an echeck, which takes time to clear (he needed the money asap) so I cancelled it. However, 25 dollars was still taken from my bank account. How do I get my money back? If I keep waiting, will the money be refunded to my PayPal balance?
When you cancel a payment those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will then either return them to your funding source (if you paid with a debit or credit card), or credit your paypal balance (if it was funded from your balance or instant bank transfer), but that takes a few days and sometimes up to a week.
