Buyer never payed or returned item. Help

Hello PayPal, 
I've never been in a a situation like this before.

-I sold a phone, the buyer received it and said its not working. He opens a case.


-I help him fix the phone, and 2 days later he says "the works now, don't worry about the claim". So I didn't worry about the claim.

-About 3 days later, the money was refunded to him. So He has a phone for free now. I never got my money.

-I called PayPal, they told me I should've responded to the claim, but I didn't because the buyer told me not to worry about it.

-I nicely messaged the buyer and sent him an invoice. He replies by saying the phone stopped working again and that he payed $100 to fix it. Is that my problem.

so I called paypal 5 times and they told me to appeal to re-open the case, but it didn't work. I really need the money.. This isn't fair. I really need my money

Unfortunately you have to follow thru with disputes and claims, the buyer was betting on you doing what was suggested.   All we can do is suggest that you call customer support direct for assistance with your appeal.

I called paypal, and they told me they can't do nothing and the appeal was denied. I really feel like this is wrong. My buyer is basically using a stolen phone..
