ebay purchase linked directly to paypal without having a paypal account

I purchased a new item from ebay and i paid off through my credit card. At the end of the transaction, it is displaying that the money is paid through paypal. I haven't  received the item from the seller and now i found out that if i need to cancel order and ebay is saying that i need to resolve the issue through paypal as i made the payment thorugh it.

But i didnt had a paypal account prior and after settingup the account i can't find any transactions in the my paypal account.

If anyone can help me in this i'll be greatful.

Sounds as if you paid as a guest buyer with paypal.

You can still open a dispute but you need to contact customer services and they will open one for you.

Thank you. I'll do it now and hope they resolve the issue as the buyer isn't responding to the mail.
