Hi there. I got an email saying "You just purchased the Enhanced Recurring Payments package. You can now create Automatic Billing and Installment Plan buttons and put them on your website. You can also accept payments from guest users who do not have a PayPal account".
I do not want to purchase anything. There is no price or anything indicated, I am confused as to what this means? Am I going to be charged for anything?
Thanks.

yes it is a real email address. I actually did go through the process of "purchasing the enhanced recurring payments". I clicked a button saying I needed to "purchase it" to set up my subscripion billing. But there is no indication of price or anything like that.
The legitimacy of the email is not in question. It's what the heck am I actually being charged? I do not want to be charged for any service and cant find hoe to cancel, if I need to.

I did some research for you on Google and PayPal:
I found the fees for your enhanced service:
Pricing for Add-On Services
- Recurring Billing: $10 monthly fee
- Advanced Fraud Protection Services: $10 monthly + $0.05* per transaction

thanks for that. If I dont use "recurring billing" but use "subscription" instead, is it free? Can I cancel the recurring billing?

I have no idea. I didn't even know there was such thing as recurring billing with PayPal. It was only in response to your questions and eventual explanation that it was PayPal that I was curious. From some other results it seems that there is no clear concise description anywhere. There are some merchant manuals, but I gave up my research when I found the fees.
Go to PayPal Help and start your search there; you need to follow some convuted paths to pickup various pieces of information. Hopefully, you can figure out what it really is and what it costs.
You should be able to cancel. No company makes you pay for a service which you can't cancel. It might show in Profile Settings or on the Toold dropdown--it's just way of thinking only.
