They want me to send my social in to them and bills thats in my name..... I think thts very unnecessary.... I sold some items on ebay and waiting for the money to be let off hold..... Then i get a message about my social security number and id...... I just want to transfer my funds to my bamk account thats it thats all lol
What you think as necessary is irrelevant. If you want your money you'll need to provide the requested information, just like you would for a bank. It's all part of the financial system and identification verification requirements.
Paypal is not a bank and i would never have chosen them if ebay didnt have a relationship with them..... What is a ss needed for when i veried everything thts was needed as far as my bank is concerned and yes i knw wats revelent and
SS number is needed for US accounts to better identify who you are plus utility bills,driver license,passport etc/
SS number is also used to prepare a 1099k of your account activities at the end of the year if you have acccept 200 transactions AND $20,000 under goods and services.
One copy goes to IRS and one to you.
If you dont want to give your SS number,refund your payment and close your account and find other means to accept payment
