PayPal's "COMPLETED" vs. "PAID" Issue Needs Fixing Now

I recently sent a large number of invoices for annual dues to our nonprofit association's members, and about 40 continued to be shown under the "UNPAID" months after the due date. Naturally, I prodded these members to pay up, and with many ignoring my pleas, I sent a very sharply pointed note saying these members were at risk of getting kicked out of the org. Only then did several say they thought they had already paid — and you know what? They HAD already paid, but who can tell with the way PayPal records payments? The issue: When you go to Activity, there's only the lists PAID, UNPAID, etc. — under either "Active" or "Archived." But if you poke around, you can find a page where you have the choice of "Active," "Archived," or "ALL." I clicked ALL — and found that the bulk of members I thought hadn't paid their dues HAD — but their payments were recorded as "Completed" instead of "Paid." SO ANNOYING. I had to refund all of those second payments, first appearing like a pushy money-grubber, then an idiot. Such a waste of many people's time. I'm so bleary eyed by this glitch, I'm still not sure if some actually did pay or not. Please streamline, PayPal. Thanks.
