Craiglist transaction using paypal as a payment, am I protected?

As the title says I'm selling a gaming laptop on craiglist and it's worth about $1,000. I'm in talks with what seems to be an older gentleman buying for his son who is likely living or in school out of state. He wants to pay me VIA paypal and ship to his son, which I am perfect fine and capable of doing. But if I send him an invoice and he pays and includes shipping info and I ship succesfully can he charge-back the money and leave me **bleep**? I know paypal has all sorts of protections against things like this and scamemrs but I just want to be sure before I go ahead with this transaction. Sorry if this is obvious information but I am kind of new. Thanks!

Paypal seller protection policy can be found on its website

for 750 or more, you need signature confirmation as well as online viewable tracking /

you must ship to his address on the payment notice,if he wants you to ship to a different address, tell him to add that address to his ship to address in his Paypal account and when making payment, choose that address .

always review carefully the payment notice from Paypal,is it okay to ship,is item eligible for protection and what is the address.

someone was scammed recently 33k watch when buyer did not enter any shipping address ,but in the note/comment section,he entered an address, then filed item not received and won.

there is np protection for item not as described,he will win and asked t o return the laptop on his dime.

if he returns a box of rocks, but tracking shows it has been delivered to you and sigend for,he will win.

if he loses,he can go to his cc issuer and file a chargeback, there is a $20 fee if you lose/

Craigslist is scamville ,worse than Ebay.are you sure he is not a crook?

why dont you call him ,is he really an old man, does he really have a son   out of state, why DONT YOU ASK FOR POSTAL ORDER,you can cash it at your post office with proper ID.

Advertising on Craig's List is like and avertising an invitation for a scam.  It is high risk.

Advertising a computer on Craig's list is EXTREMELY HIGH RISK of loss.

There are very savvy and smart PayPal members constantly searching Craig's list for easy money.  They are looking for inexperienced PayPal sellers who are eager to make quick money.  These inexperienced PayPal seller jump t the emotional chance for a used computer.  Emotions take over rational reasoning.

You need to become an expert on all things PayPal if yo want to sell without loss.  That means thorough review of PayPal policies before decide how much risk to take.

You will never be able to prove the comuter worked before you shipped it and you will never be able to prove it worked when the buyer received it, so the buyer can win a not as described dispute and return a box of rocks as @Whac-A-Mole stated.

Go with payments suggested previously.

As soon as you let the buyer know you will not accept PayPal payment the buyer will disappear indicating that the buyer really wanted to scam you out of your computer.
