Hello All,
I am the owner of small platform which offers accommodations through out South America. One of our Payment gateways is PayPal, but We been having to pay double transaction fee when it comes to transaction among all parts [Tenant Payment (Transaction Fee) -> Platform PayPal Account (Transaction Fee)--> Host] .Paypal is charging me transaction fee when I receive the money from the user and charging me transaction fee when I send the money to the property host. I don't agree with this double transaction payment fee. has anyone go through a similar scenario? How did you resolved it? Any help would be appreciated. can anyone from Paypal offer a solution? Thank you all in advance!

@Whac-A-Mole wrote:for payment under goods and services,recipient always pay a fee,not the sender/
Hi! @Whac-A-Mole, Yes, I understand there should be a fee under payment of goods and services. but once we transfer the money to the third party(property owner) we are charged with another trans fee. I was just wondering if there was a different approach to this. Thanks again @Whac-A-Mole

The recipient should be paying a fee on that transfer, not the sender.
Just be aware of the lack of seller protection for services.
Also, be aware of the risks of showing money coming into your PayPal account and then being set out without any product shipping.
Use direct bank transfers to avoid more PayPal fees.
You would be charged a fee if there were currency conversions taking place.

Hi @DPCreations,
Thanks for your suggestion. Bank transfers is one our options on the table just not the route we would like to go. We are trying to make the payment process smoother and faster. Which it actually is but the double trans fee is killing our profit.

I don't know why you would have a fee for sending a goods/services payment to another party; it's the recipient who would pay. Are all transfers within SA and with the SA Rand? Is the sent money from your PayPal funds balance?

Sorry about SA. I mis-read the South America; my mind was back visting South Africa.
So, all parties are in the U. S. and using U. S. accounts? None of the funds transfer to South American countries?
Just trying to figure out why you would pay a fee on outgoing funds unless there were international transfers involved.
What is this transaction platform? Is there a separate fee with that?

lol No problem....Yeah, some of transactions are going to South America. I guess this will incur the fee is what you are saying. I was just thinking that Paypal would provide a different approach to this.

That's what I was trying to figure out with details about what you were doing.
What is the % fee you are paying on the outgoing transactions. Are the recipients receiving U. S. $ ? I assume the recipients have PayPal accounts in their local currency.
