The question is exactly as in the title.
- I moved from one country to another
- to change PayPal account country I need to close my current one and open a new one in the new country
- to close my PayPal account, I need to clear my balance
- to clear my balance I need to link a bank account (I have had a credit card linked to my current PayPal account, NOT a bank account)
- unfortuantely, when I try to link a bank account, the only option is "United States"
- so, as I do not live in the US and neither have a bank account there, I cannot liink a bank account to my PayPal account
- without a bank account, I cannot move the money left on my PayPal account
- so, I cannot change the country of my PayPal account without loosing all my outstanding blance..
How to come out of this insane circle???
cheers

My only thought is do you have someone either in the US or your new country that you can send the money to so that they can withdraw the money for you and can either pay you in cash or send a payment to your new paypal account once opened??
There may be some currency conversion charges involved but you should get your money.

Thanks for the comment.
Anyway, so far as I understand I can only send money to someone else paypal account. Is that correct? I cannot send money to someone else bank account directly.
