Problem with "buy now" button

I have a basic yahoo website that want to start selling postcards from.
I listed a test postcard last night for $0.01 and bought it from my dad's account. I got a notification of payment, but I had no way of knowing what was purchased (no item name in reciept, no e-mail in my yahoo business account or regular yahoo mail.) Also, the item did not disappear or have a "sold out" below it, even though I chose a quantity of one.
Can anyone help?

It sounds like some of the button variables are not being passed to PayPal properly or the button code is being changed by your website editor. I'm assuming that you are creating a Buy Now button on the PayPal website, then pasting the code into your yahoo website?
If you are using PayPal's Inventory tracking, that option will need to be checked under Step 2 of the button creator. The button will also need to be hosted ("Save button at PayPal" under step 2).The item ID set in step 1 will need to match the item ID in the inventory section in step 2 as well.
If you are using a 3rd party shopping cart or something that is offered by yahoo, it's possible that the inventory management is handled on their end.
The item name issue is unusual and I would expect that information to appear in your email notification if that had been specified when the button was created. If the button is not being saved at PayPal, I would guess that the item name was somehow removed or modified by the website editor.
It's difficult to know exactly what is causing these issues without knowing how the button is created and seeing the code.
I hope this helps to troubleshoot the issue.

I'm also having problems with the email notification. It doesn't show anything except the buyers info and price. I have tried adding additional variables but when I save and come back, the additional variable are not there. Any Ideas how I can get the item name, option and quantity in the payment notification email?
