My API Credentials Will Not Work

 I am trying to set up a payment gateway with my website with PayPal.  All My website requires for me to do this is my API credentials.  But when I enter my credentials it tells me that I do not have a PayPal business account.  I'm at a loss.  Any suggestions?

Make sure that you are talking to the right  api endpoint. Is this a thirdparty website? Is this sandbox or the live environment?
