Micro Payments signup page DOES NOT WORK

I've had a PayPal Premier account for about 10 years and only today learned about "Micro Payments" on an eBay forum. Repeatedly went all over the PayPal website looking for more information (why is it such a well-kept secret??). I finally tracked it down to somewhere in "Fees," but the final link, "Apply Now" IS BROKEN, as has been pointed out on this forum before (in Nov. 2012, in a post that pointed out it hadn't been updated or fixed for THREE YEARS). This is the link that does nothing: https://micropayments.paypal-labs.com/ -- I've tried it in two browsers, and as is obvious from old OLD posts, it doesn't work for others either.

HOW DOES ONE SIGN UP FOR MICROPAYMENTS? especially, how does one sign up to accept either regular payments or micropayments, depending on auction amount, and what if an item unexpectedly sells for more than $10 but micropayments is specified? (I apologize for yelling, but the unresponsiveness of PayPal is stunning, as is the way the program is buried and then only vaguely described and then can't even be accessed.) By the way, there is a post from 2010 asking this same question, with no reply! PayPal just doesn't want people to know about Micropayments or to sign up for them?

Found this page, you do have to setup a second account.  Try it and let us know if works.

Seems any of the old links to PayPal Labs are not working anymore.  Not sure why they ever had a link to sign up for micropayments via PayPal Labs anyway.  All of the products offered thru Labs were Beta and not directly supported, they were just tossed out there for developers to play with.   As Micropayments is a live product, it never made sense that it was accessible thru the Labs link but, that's PayPal.

Thanks for the info. It would be nice if they made a clear-cut link for people other than "developers."

Let us know if you get Micropayments setup and if you have any tips for others.

I went to that link, set up a new Business account following all the instructions including choosing my average transaction value. The lowest level offered was "Under $25." Noplace was there an option to select the Micropayments rate. So I have set up the account but I don't think it's a micropayments account. I can't even find anyplace to fconfirm what rate I'd be charged (regular vs micro).

Another PayPal Help page said to go to Profile >Settings  >Checkout, but that doesn't say anything about Micropayments either, just transactions under $4 for digital goods so I think the Help page is outdated.

Am I overlooking something? Do I have to call PayPal to get this option for the account rate?

You may want to check with Tech Support, I think they can help more than customer support can.

That was a good idea, but unfortunately they don't even seem to know what a Micropayments account is!  The only search hit that used the term (with or without a space between micro and payments) said, "Micropayments are pre-paid accounts similar to phonecards or giftcards, etc." The quest continues!

Did you open a Support Ticket?   Usually doing a search does not get the results you're looking for.

With Tech Support, you have to setup an account first, then you can submit and track your question.

I have just opened a tech support ticket, reporting the broken link (including a screenshot) in the payments options page. I was hoping there was a secret back-door link alternative  that I could use without trying to deal with customer support!  Thanks.

I still haven't done anything about signing up -- I'm planning to call  PayPal later today or tomorrow to try to get some straight information.
