Customer Receipts Not Itemized

I have a client who uses WooCommerce for his site. It's configured correctly. When a customer makes a purchase, the purchase is itemized through the entire transaction, both on his site and on Paypal. However, when he receives notification of payment from Paypal, only the total payment is listed and not the itemized list. Likewise, his customers only receive a total payment on their receipts and not an itemized list. The client doesn't know what was ordered and his customers don't have reliable receipts. What gives? Any ideas on how to fix this?
