I requested payment via the paypal ios app from a friend who I've received multiple payments from in the last year. He paid and the requested payment is listed as 'pending' on the app, but is not showing on my paypal account when I log in via my PC. It seems the information is not being synced. I called paypal who told me to try updating the app, but nothing changed when I did so. My final option was to try and cancel the request, but there's no option on the app.
My friend who sent the money sent me a message saying the payment is 'unclaimed' and I've read that unclaimed payment should be refunded in 30 days, but I need to know if there is anything my friend or I can do to make this happen sooner.
Is there possibly something wrong with my device or account settings which is preventing the payment made via the app from posting on the pc site?
Is it possible for my friend to cancel the payment more quickly on his end?
If anyone has suggestions for a fix to this problem, please let me know. It seems crazy that this is happening.

As this is a member to member help group, all we can share with you some details concerning "unclaimed" payments. Normally this status is displayed if the sender used an incorrect email address or the receiver has not confirmed their email address.
If the status of the transaction is "unclaimed" and the "cancel" link is active, the sender can cancel it. This means that funds were sent to email address that is not registered with the PayPal system.
If the status of the transaction is "unclaimed" and the "cancel" link is not visible or not active, PayPal will return the funds to the sender after 30 days. This means that funds were sent to an email address that at some point in time was registered with the PayPal system. Most likely the email address is not active any more or the owner of the address has not confirmed their email address. As for any way to expedite the process, unfortunately all one can do is wait for PayPal to return the funds.
