Allow international sales but ship to US address only

I like to accept orders from about 30 countries but only ship to a US shipping addess provided by the international buyer.  That shipping address can be a friend or a relative or a freight forwarder in the US. Payment needs to be in USD or converted to USD.  If it's converted to USD I don't know if the payment will be enough as I don't list my prices in foreign currencies. I can't find a way to block international buyers with a non-US shipping address. Can you help?

Don't think you can with Payments Standard.   The logic you require would take a bit of custom scripting and would have to done on your web site or page.  You may find a 3rd party cart that can sort thru your requirements.  Unfortunately what you have in mind can't be done thru your account profile settings.  You may want to check out Payments Pro, everything is done on your web site, the customer is not sent to PayPal for checkout.  Only the credit card info is passed to PayPal for processing.

Thanks for your response.  As a startup I don't want to deal with customs and international mailing (yet).  I wonder now also if this shipping to a US shipping address that is not the buyer's address would conflict with PayPal verifying the buyer or does PayPal only verify if the billing address is valid?

If you require through your Profile settings that the buyer has to have a confirmed address, this means that the shipping and billing address must be the same.  It's a choice you make.
