This is in response to Jill63........THANK YOU!!! My buyer e-mailed me and said he replied to my "request for money" on paypal. I then received a very legitmate e-mail from paypal stating I had received new funds with a temp. hold on them. I then logged onto my paypal account and it still said pending and $0.00 balance. I thought it might take awhile to show up on my account, so I decided to wait a little bit to see my balance before I shipped the item. My buyer then kept e-mailing me that I needed to send it ASAP and then provide paypal with my tracking number and shipping info. I thought this was weird since I have used paypal before and I didn't have to do this. I then began reading through everyone's posts about how I don't get paid until my buyer confirms receipt of the item. But then I came to your post and it all made sense. Everyone is posting how paypal is a scam (and I almost started to believe it myself) and it really is the buyer who is trying to scam. I called paypal immediatley and sure enough, my buyer had NOT maid and payment of any kind. I then told him about the e-mail I received from paypal and gave him the return address and he said it wasn't paypal that sent that e-mail and i should forward it to spoof@paypal.com. Thank you so much for posting your post, because I almost started thinking everyone else was right and almost shipped my item. Please pass this along to everyone you know that uses paypal. DON'T BE FOOLED EVERYONE. IT ISN'T PAYPAL THAT IS SCAMMING, IT'S THE BUYER!!!!
