What the hell is going on with this company? I have been a member of Paypal for probably 20 years and never once raised a claim or dispute. Last week I had four unauthorised transactions on my account in the space of 24 hours. I did not realise this until I saw the credit card statement the next day. I raised a claim through paypal and all amounts were refunded except for one.
I rang paypal today to query this and they advised me that their investigation concluded that this transaction wasn't fraudulent and that my account wasn't hacked. This is just after I had three other claims refunded for the same date. Despite my protest that I didn't authorise the transaction, I was continually told that their investigation showed otherwise. What the hell does that mean? I then asked, how does your investigation show this and they told me that they can't reveal their methodologies.
What are my options here? Do I just have to accept that I got ripped off and Paypal thinks that i am trying to defraud them? Surely I am not the only person who has gone through this.
I was advised to contact my credit card company, which I already did. They told me that Paypal have a means of resolving this, so I should lodge a dispute through this.
