I had an account with PayPal for nearly 20 years. No problems, everything worked just fine. A few months back I decided to just give it up and stop selling on the internet. I was able to cancel my PayPal account, but ebay balked. No real reason given. I just left it as it was, with no listings. After a few months I decided to give it another try, when my granddaughter wanted me to sell her college textbooks. So, of course, I had to open a new PP account. That went pretty smoothly. Right away I sold one of her books. I had to get my bank account confirmed. Since my old bank was sold to a new one, I had all new account numbers, debit cards, etc. When I tried to link my account with PP I mistakenly left off the last number in my bank account, so the deposit they make to your account was refused. I corrected that, and waited for it to show upon my account. After about a week, I saw a transaction, actually TWO of them, for like $0.19. OK, I reported that and waited to see what was next. Several more days go by and I'm getting nervous since I can't, USE my money! Today, it said take control of your money, so I clicked it and now my money is on the way to my bank. My problem is, WHY don't they tell us how to USE this 'new' system of theirs? The old system was so SIMPLE, that any idiot, like me, could easily use it. This one you have to be a mind reader! All I wanted to do was transfer my funds to my bank. That USED to take every bit of 5 seconds, not two weeks! Now that I (sort of) know how to use it, the next sales should go smoothly. I hope. When I had my old account, there was an option to use the old system. I used that and I would LOVE to have it back. I don't handle change very well. Once I get used to doing something a certain way, I want to KEEP on doing it that way.Why do they want to fix something that isn't broken? Just to reinvent the wheel? Yes, I know, what a LONG rant, right? But, hey, I feel better for it, now. I liked the old way, where you could easily look back at past transactions, in case you forgot something. (Names, etc.) There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on this new interface. A brand new user might not have a problem, but some of us old customers are experiencing a few. By leaving and then coming back, I can easily see how they would. The moral of this story is, I guess, don't cancel your account, if there is ANY chance you might need it later. I have learned that, very well.
