I contacted CNN, and they are actually interested in possibly doing a "human interest" story on this! They are supposed to be getting back to me with more info. I also sent an e-mail to the Attorney General. I hope Paypal and eBay realize the negative publicity they are getting from this!

Paypal does not give a rats a** about how we are supposed to keep our business running! They are making a killing off of the interest they are earning for 21 days on OUR MONEY!!! Isn't there an atorney out there somewhere that wants to take on a no-brainer case??? What Paypal is doing is not legal, I know that much, and I don't have a law degree. It violates consumer protection acts, as well as interstate commerce laws. But unless someone does something serious, they are not going to change. I have contacted CNN, and advised them of what is happening, and that a Facebook page has even been created against this policy. I know there are much bigger problems out there, but with the economy the way it is, they just may pick up on a story like this. Let's hope so.....

I had feedback left for 2 items I sold, and the payments are still being held. Paypal is really **bleep**ing us sellers with this new policy, as shipping costs, etc. are coming out of our pocket before we even get paid for an item.

Sure, but just remember that either way, you're going to get scr***d while Paypal earns interest on your money for 21 days.

So as a seller with a 100% feedback rating, who has been using Paypal faithfully since day 1, I now feel like I'm getting the proverbial "shaft". I am supposed to ship my items promptly, package them with care, and make sure the buyer is happy. All while Paypal hold our money in their bank account, earning interest on it. So what can we do? I suggest we all go back to the days of accepting money orders and check only. I would rather wait to ship an item for 7-10 days while a check clears, than ship it immediately and wait 21 days for MY MONEY. So beginning with my next batch of items, that is exactly what I'm going to do. And I'm going to clearly state in my auctions why Paypal will no longer be accepted. Anyone with any common sense will agree that it is not feasable to try to run a business where you provide a service, and then not get paid for 3 weeks afterwards. But unless everyone follows suit, Paypal is going to continue this absurd practice.

So has the time come to go back to the old days of accepting money orders and personal checks only? I think so. I would rather wait 7 days for a personal check to clear before shipping, than shipping right away and having to wait 21 days or more for my money, while Paypal sits on it and earns interest. The only way for Paypal to get the message is going to be for everyone to close their accounts, or to stop accepting Paypal as a payment method on their eBay auctions. Otherwise, nothing will change.

Is everyone going to b***h, moan, and groan, or are we going to do something about it? I am going to advise my buyers that I will not be able to ship their item until payment clears my account, which seems to take about 30 days. This will hopefully discourage buyers from using Paypal's services. I refuse to wait for MY money, while Paypal sits on it and earns interest! I ship my items in a timely manner, I describe my items accurately, and have a 100% feedback rating. WHY AM I, THE SELLER, BEING PUNISHED FOR COMPLYING 100% WITH EVERYTHING THAT IS ASKED OF ME??? Everyone shoud also contact the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau in their home state. I will start using another payment service, even if the fees are more, just so I get my money when it's pai, not when someone decides to release it to me!
