My bank account, a cc and a debit card are linked to my PayPal account. I've been on Ebay for years, with nearly 150 positive feedback and no negative. I've purchased countless items always paid through my PayPay account, using my debit card, or bank account. Not one problem. Instant payments. Then last week on Ebay the payment would no go through on my debit card, despite having thousands of dollars in my bank account. About $10,000. The payment went through as an echeck. I'd never even heard of an echeck. I thought, OK it's coming out of my bank account so no worries. Boy was I wrong. I get a message from the seller that they can't ship until the echeck clears. Which I understand, have no problem with and empathize with the seller. Because they are now playing the waiting game, to get their money. Just as I am for the echeck to clear. The funds came out of my account days ago, completely cleared my bank. Yet on PayPal the payment is still pending and still says uncleared. Which is frustrating, disappointing and stressful. As they came out of my bank account days ago. So where are they?? Waiting in a batch to go through ACH. Or is PayPal sitting on them, collecting interest? The estimated completion date is from the 9th - 14th!! Today is the 9th and nothing. This is unbelievable, in this day and age. I researched and echecks are completely unreliable, as far as completion dates go. Could be today, could be next week, which is unacceptable. Whatever you do, don't send an echeck. Call your bank, call PayPal, find another way to pay. I will never understand why this payment was sent as an echeck. But I know I will never allow it to happen again. Horrible experience for both seller and buyer, to wait days and days, perhaps even weeks. Unacceptable.
