Was your Personal PayPal account email address hooked up to your web store as the recipient of payments for the initial test purchase? If so, then payment should appear in your personal PayPal account. Where did this email confirmation come from? From the web store or from PayPal for the initial test purchase? Or did you mean you only had your personal email address hooked up to your web store as the notification contact for when an order comes in but did not hook up your PayPal account to your web store? Maybe that is why no PayPal payment came through for the initial test purchase because you did not hook up your PayPal account to your web store yet but received just your web store email confirmation because you hooked up your personal email address. Have your friend check her PayPal account for the first test purchase payment.
