The buyer was able to open a dispute. That's how he received a refund.   Not only did paypal fail to investigate but they also refunded extra to the user. I received $18.92 from the buyer. When paypal issued a refund to the buyer, they removed $20 from my paypal account so I currently have a negative balance. What should I do to resolve this? I do not want to add funds from my credit card or bank account, etc. ... View more

I did not buy anything. I sold something online and when the user tried to reverse the transaction, I showed proof that he received what he wanted. Paypal failed to investigate or maybe didn't even bother to look at my proof and refunded $20 to the buyer. I appealed and showed further proof and they accepted my appeal. However, they did not do anything other than accepting my appeal. They reversed the amount to the buyer in the first place, can they not reverse that and send me back the money? ... View more

Sold item but paypal reversed it..

I sold a virtual item online for 20 dollars. I received $18.92 USD and $1.08 was sent to paypal due to the fee. The buyer decided to dispute the order so $20 was on hold. Now here's the problem. Paypal decided that the buyer deserves a refund and now my Paypal has a balance of "$-1.08." Why is this? Shouldn't paypal be refunding the $1.08?   Aside from all that, I also appealed this dispute after paypal refunded the money. They accepted my appeal obviously because I was able to show proof that he did receive the virtual item. However, they did not take $20 dollars from his paypal and send it to me. Why is that?     Quote from paypal dispute details:     Status After careful review of the new information you provided, your appeal has been granted. What happens next Please contact the buyer to have the refund issued from your account returned to you.   I have to contact the buyer to have the refund issued to me? What's the point of appealing when paypal cannot do anything about it at all. On top of that, would the buyer really refund me the money? Most certainly he will not.     So help please. ...
