Re: Payment Hold Policy is Ridiculous!

I closed my account today for this very reason.  100% feedback and they stuck this limitation on it, 35 days later they re-evaluated and left it there.  When I asked why, all I got was the run around, so I closed my account, and my family is closing theirs too.  Been doing business with paypal for several years with no issues, if this is how they treat their good customers, I would hate to be a bad on. ... Same thing happened to me.  Been using PayPal for several years, 100% feedback, back in July they placed it on 21 day hold.  I called them and they said that I should sell a couple more items and make sure I put delivery confirmation on it (which I always do) and they would re-evaluate in 35 days.  I called them today and they re-evaluated and decided not to remove the hold.  I was told I now need  100 feedbacks  and I only have 64.  I told them this was not in their hold policy and I would hate to see what they do to a bad customer.  I then told them, once my current transactions are released I would be cancelling my account and wish I could file a complaint against them, at that point he got rude and hung up on me.  Got to find another payment type account, because I will not do business with them again. ... Actually you shouldn't have to tell paypal about it. On one of mine as soon as feedback was left, they released the funds.  However, on another one, its been on hold for 14 days, I have sent 5 emails to the buyer and not one response.  Delivery confirmation shows it was recieved.  I have sent paypal a message, but no response from them either.   Overall, this is a very bad system. ... Trying to find an alternative to paypal, as this 21 day hold crap is just that...crap, 3 days I could understand, maybe even a week I could live with, but 3 weeks, just like JK harris says "i need my money and I need it now."  Tried talking to paypal, but its like talking to a wall, you ask them one thing and they spout out another.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Also, was looking at the amazon auction system too, any suggestions on that?    Thank you   ... I have been talking to paypal via email asking them why.  All they give me is the same rhetoric they give everyone.  Finally they just stop replying to my emails, (all 2 of them).    I would understand a 3 day hold, but 21 days, come on.  Just had a guy leave me feedback for an item I sold back at the end of Feb.  Would go with someone else, but not for sure about them and it also seems that ebay got rid of money order transactions. ... This is the response I got from paypal when I emailed them, they never answered my question.  I have 100% feedback, been a member for 4 years and no disputes.  This is a catch 22 situation it seems.   Hello Sr. Phillip Bowman, My name is Daniel and I am glad to assist you with your inquiry. I need tell you that yeah we protect the buyer a lot because to start with they are the ones who start a transaction making payments before made the request that’s why we had this policy for their security because like in any place if someone request money and later the product all persons think twice. But we protect both sides I was checking and for the sellers we had a skill to avoid holds. For new sellers or sellers with less-than-optimal customer satisfaction ratings, payments may be held as a precaution until the buyer receives their item. Your payments will typically not be held if you meet all the following requirements: * You have been an eBay member for 6 months or more. * Your total feedback score is 100 or greater. * Your buyer dissatisfaction percentage is less than 5%. Or, if you meet all the following requirements: * Your average detailed seller rating is 4.5 or greater. * You have received 20 or more detailed seller ratings in the last 12 months. * Your buyer dissatisfaction percentage is less than 5%. If you’ve had more than 5% dissatisfied buyers in the last 30 days, you are required to offer PayPal or a merchant credit card. If you don't yet meet these criteria, we recommend that you implement best practices to reduce buyer disputes, claims and chargebacks. Once the requirements are met the item holds will discontinue. I wish you an excellent day. ... View more
