Hi, I sold a very expensive ring (about $4k) to a buyer located in Ireland. I'm in the US. I sent it through recorded delivery, and the tracking shows up as delivered. However, he has opened an INR claim against me, saying that the ring never arrived. I put in the tracking number, but Paypal sided with him and refunded him. I tried calling Paypal but they told me that as there is no proof, I am not eligible for seller protection. I am extremely frustrated since I feel that he is lying and just wants the ring for free. This is a criminal offense. Can I sue the buyer directly for theft or small claims? Does anyone know the cost of doing that when he is in Ireland? Will this hold up in court, or should I sue Paypal instead?
