Hey guys. Ok so I have done the search and seem to have come against the same constant posts regarding withdrawals to bank account taking so long. I need for someone to answer/explain out the real proper reason that it takes the full 72 hours. It says between 0-3 working days or up between 2 and 72 hours yet every single post either within PayPal community or outside on various forums across the web the timescale has always taken the full 72 hours if not actually in some cases been over 72 hours. So example I'm gonna use is I was sent a gift from one of my parents, money for which I needed very quickly and I used my paypal.me address which is quite handy and quick. The money went straight in to my PayPal account, however upon withdrawing to my bank account it suddenly fell under the apparent security review which can take up to 72 hours to clear, as of writing this it has now been over the 72 hours. What exactly is wrong here? I am well aware of the user agreement sections and blah blah etc etc... So please don't try to or attempt to patronise me, already been there and read up - yeah. What about a gift from a family member comes under restrictions or money laundering? It wasn't and thus the necessary funds were not available to me when I needed them the most so not fast at all, maybe safe but why does safety come into it? It's me, I've proven my bank account linked is mine, I entered the code it came through onto my online statement and verified it was mine so what exactly is the hold up? Also please explain to me why NOT once have I heard of anyone getting their money before the 72 hour deadline? Not once! This one gripe I'm typing out right now is one among hundreds if not thousands with the similar story and same outcome every time. In fact I've read some people that used to get their money within the 2 hour window but are now constantly finding their's are coming up in review pretty much every time, that isn't random that is constant. Now comes the next part, I had 2 transactions, both are being held in pending, one after the other - again this is NOT random reviews! Another thing, wasn't PayPal brought up in court a number of years ago, think it may have been 2013 or 2014 when they were actually ordered to release customer funds using the faster payments system in the United Kingdom - where I reside btw ?? I've been digging to try and find the related articles because I cannot remember which year exactly it was the court order was put into effect. So PayPal is able to side step this by using a loophole and start changing their user agreement so they can hold on to the customers money due to the fact they agree to PayPal's policies regarding withdrawals. Has anybody actually gone to a financial ombudsman about any of this to find out for sure whether PayPals policies are actually legally fair? Or if indeed they can actually do any of this? I'd like someone to seriously answer these questions and like I said don't start quoting user agreement sections etc etc because I don't wanna hear it! I think it is high time someone took PayPal to court again to have these terms and conditions in the agreements hammered out and so PayPal are forced to give the customer their money within an acceptable time frame because 72 hours is not acceptable and each and every time it seems to be the full 72 hours not 2, not 24, not 36 or 48 but the full 72! Greedy corps like PayPal need to realise they're not above the law and they're not above being forced (without a loophole available) by a court to adhere to fair play oh and that involves them not being able to get around it via a 'Service Charge' or 'Withdrawal Fee' - which they could try to reintroduce. Answers please, thanks! Dave.
